Here's an example of a Recruitment Letter application. You don't have to be as in-depth as I have been in this example, but the more you're willing to provide, the better.
To: Task Force 62 Recruitment Staff From: Alarion Detheron, Cmdr., CSV Odysseus
Sirs--
As per your request, I have attached the highlights of my career service vitae to this letter.
I graduated from the State War Academy on July 26th, 110 YC. Immediately after graduating, I was assigned to Caldari Naval Reserve Task Force 107 with orders to protect and patrol the borders of the Caldari State against any and all incursions into the State. I have served the State admirably in this role for the past two years, having personally repelled several dozen attacks in the Citadel Region of the State. In that time, I have steadily worked my way up from command of a frigate-sized vessel to a Navy-issued Raven, the Pegasus. In that time, I am proud to report that I never lost a single vessel under my command. Such a line of stellar service was broken two weeks ago.
Having learned of a massive Sanshan Incursion in the Hysera system from Naval intelligence, the Pegasus was dispatched to repel the Sanshan's. After dispatching the Sanshan's in the system, we were ambushed by a pirate fleet consisting of capsuleers. Heavily out-gunned and out-matched, I was forced to pay a considerable ransom from my own coffers to the pirates in order to save the lives of my crew and avoid the destruction of my ship. Although I was able to save my ship, the incident reflected poorly upon myself and the Caldari State and I was relieved of command. Caldari High Command ordered my immediate transfer to the Deep Core Mining Corporation.
Deeply dissatisfied with this assignment, I tendered my resignation with the DCM and began searching for new work in New Eden. While mining asteroids for materials or shipping parts between systems are tasks that are useful to the State, I find myself unsuitable for these banal assignments. I am a soldier first and foremost and I believe that the best place for my talents is aboard a Caldari Navy warship.
I first heard of Task Force 62 while browsing the New Eden extranet for a new assignment. The Reserve's record of service was very impressive and I immediately joined the unit's recruitment channel in order to learn more about it. From my experience, no other capsuleer-run organization in New Eden has served the Caldari State better.
By joining Task Force 62, I hope to better serve the Caldari State by acquiring the necessary skills with which to avenge the humiliation at Hysera. Prior to the Hysera incident, I had no experience against capsuleer fleets. While my education at the State War Academy has served me well these past two years, this encounter showed that I was seriously underprepared to face off against other capsuleers; with your assistance, I believe that I can become an even better pilot in the service of the State.
As I have stated, I am a soldier above all else, and I have considerable experience with naval combat operations. Of all ships in New Eden, the Drake-class battlecruiser is my favorite vessel to pilot and I am very fortunate to having acquired my own personal Drake, the Odysseus through my many years of service. I have spent the last several weeks in between job searching by training the last of the requirements for my Standard Core Proficiency certification.
I have also begun downloading programs from the extranet in order to improve my handling of battlecruisers and battleships after I complete my Core Proficiency certification with the intent of one day commanding my own capital ship. However, I am more than willing to subordinate my own career plans in order to better serve the needs of the Task Force.
I hope that you find my CSV suitable to your needs and I look forward to hearing from a member of the Recruitment Staff shortly.
At your service, Alarion Detheron CSV Odysseus, Cmdr.
